Can I get one as an Irish citizen living in the uk? Instead of the new UK scheme?

I've just been looking at the HSE website as I need to renew mine and it looks like you can't, unless you live in Ireland or another EU country. If there's a UK scheme you'll probably have to use that.

Yuk, DH had to get one a few years ago as his ran out and he is British. It has a big Union Jack on it he hates it calls it his UKIP card.
Thanks for replying.

Oh, I get your reluctance now! DH is Irish and would've hated that.

If having a UK one is such a hindrance go back to Ireland 🤣

That's a bit unpleasant.

@DramaAlpaca, you don't have to be Irish to be offended by the new card. I'm English but, to echo a recent thread, I'm from Yorkshire, but I use the term "english as some people who don't understand think being from Yorkshire and being English are the same thing.

NB I make this comment with my tongue very firmly in my cheek.
