Spain with 12 yo - Covid Pass not coming through, NHS letter hasn't arrived

Hi all, anyone managed to get to Spain recently with a 12 y .o. and what is it like re Covid Pass?

So, as per above subjetct, no letter (a week today) has arrived; NHS.uk - where it says 12 yo can get a pass online - isn't working either. Been on the phone with 119 for hours, tried various ways. Basically the ID recognition thing wouldn't match her passport to her face - tried for the past week, just not working. Today - after multiple attempts - it finally worked, the facial recognition feature accepted her face, i.e. matched it to passport - but then it said it's being checked and no sign of anything.

The only thing I managed to get for her is a printout of all her vaccinations from the surgery, and a piece of paper saying she recovered from Covid, also from the surgery. No bar codes, nothing. just a printout of some kind. The rest of us - me, DD2 (15) and DH all managed to get ours sorted out within minutes... Any idea what can be done? (yes, PCR is my last hope, i still have tomorrow for that). Thank you for any advice. :_((

The ID was checked and approved by the NHS app by the following day when we did it - on three different occasions - so hopefully your DD's will be done tomorrow and then you can download the covid certificate. Best of luck.

Thanks so much, nothingcomestonothing! It actually arrived, about an hour ago!

But now I can't upload it onto the website to fill in the flaming form! Have you had any luck with this??

Check the advice on this FB group. They’re really on the ball with the Spanish forms

I’ve been getting conflicting advice about this. I was told that kids can only use the app from 13 but that you can link them to your account. You have to get your GP to add them. I went to my GP and they said they wouldn’t because that would mean I would be able to access their medical records still when they were 16 and that would be a data protection issue. So it seems that a letter is the only way. 119 then told me that wasn’t true and they could be added to my profile but if the GP are not willing NHS will do letter but that could take up to a fortnight after 2nd jab depending when loaded onto the system . Looks like the NHS not really set up for 12 yo’s yet!! How did you get on in the end? We’re hoping to travel to Spain in August and had to rush getting my 12 yo’s 1st jab to get both done 2 weeks prior to travel!!

@Toomuchsauce , it worked through the website in the end via her phone, and we got a notification via email within a few hours. covid-status.service.nhsx.nhs.uk Phew. 12 yo can’t use the app but can use the website, as it says on nhs.uk. You follow all the steps and then it asks to prove your 12yo’s identity by writing a number on a piece of paper and getting them to hold it to the camera next to their face and then they approve it & email you in a few hours. They need to create nhs log in first of course. Re the gp option you mention. The GP surgery told me they can be added bcoz I applied for access to my kids data and they signed consent but that didn’t lead anywhere and 119 tried to help with that but I still couldn’t add them to my account.
Oh. One more thing. Nobody, at any point, in the uk or in Spain, on the way out or back, asked for these bl letters that I spent ages sorting out!!!!
