Nicest places to stay near Malaga,,.?

We have found some cheap ish flights, please can anyone recommend the best places to stay near Malaga,,? Fun, nice resorts ?

Benalmadena Costa, Estepona and Nerja

Benalmadena. Went there a few years ago with adult DC. Lots to see and do, nice restarants, marina, great beaches.

Nerja, Cala de Mijas (small, nice town centre, boardwalk all along the beach)

I like Nerja and Estepona . I would say they were relaxing rather than 'fun' though .

We have an apartment in Benalmadena and it is lovely. Benalmadena Pueblo is also gorgeous although very quiet. Very traditionally Spanish though and an easy taxi ride away!

Benalmadena has a middle Spanish bit called arroyo del miel. If you like Spanish restaurants and late nights then don’t discount there either

Malaga itself is really nice - lovely town centre with Roman theatre, cool bars etc beach nice too.
