Booster jab less than 48 hours before travel

Slightly feckless young adult family member has been caught out by Italy extending its vaccine pass requirements for another month just after he booked.
He has booked a last minute short trip leaving at the crack of dawn on Wednesday.
To get a Super Green Pass needed to get into hotels etc and onto a flight home he needs to have had a booster jab. Well guess who never got round to it (yes i made him an appointment which he couldn't make but never got round to rebooking).
None of the information on line is specific about the time frame for boosters although some mention initial vacs needing to be done 14 days before.
Do you think his booster will appear on the Covid status app within 36 hours if he gets a drop in jab tonight and if it does will Italy accept it done so recently?
