Hi, I have a big birthday to celebrate with my husband the first week of August and could really do with some advice, please. Ordinarily we wouldn't travel that week as we don't have kids and prefer to travel when its cheaper and less crowded. However for the big birthday it would be nice to be away on the day.
We'd like to stay somewhat close to home (short or medium haul) and don't want to go anywhere absolutely roasting. We were thinking maybe Iceland, Slovenia, Croatia? Italy would be brilliant but probably very crowded. We were in Rome 10 years previously for the big birthday and found it really hot but did enjoy ourselves. We like everything really but nothing too strenuous like trekking due to health issues. Thank you for any advice you can give us.
