Holidays
Winter sun with toddler and a baby

Hi there,
After some recommendations please of places to go after Christmas/early January for a holiday, maybe for 10 days or so. By then my daughter will have just turned 3, and son (who isn’t here yet!) will be about 5 months. Because of the pandemic we haven’t ever taken my daughter abroad so we’re totally clueless about places to go. Looking for something relaxing (as relaxing as it ever can be with little ones), warm sunshine, beach, things to entertain the toddler and places to go on day trips would be good too. Flexible on flight times although realise a very long flight may well be super stressful. Any ideas gratefully received!

Canaries are baby friendly. Usually have heated pools.
Fuerteventura is my favourite, the beaches are glorious.

Dubai would have warm weather and isn’t too long haul. Caesar’s Palace has a good kids club and JA Palm Tree Court has a kids club and crèche.

Do you want things for you to do with your three year old or to book her into a kids' club type thing? Its a good idea to think that through as sometimes a hotel will be considered "child-friendly" because it has a KC or crèche but that may be the extent of it and there may not be be much for you to do as a family. But then again at that age access to a pool, a beach and the odd ice-cream are about all you need.
Canaries will be warmish at that time of year (about 20°) and have the advantage of a decent flight time and no time difference so no buggering about with naps and bedtime. Lanzarote is a very family-friendly island and the least windy.

Thanks so much, will look at all of these.
@TwigTheWonderKid we would like to do things as a family. I work full time & my daughter is in full time nursery so we’ve avoided kids clubs when on holidays so far as we want to spend time with her. Doesn’t necessarily need to be loads to do, as you say, pool & ice cream are entertaining, but would be good if we could have the odd trip out just for a change of scene.
