I have been to Washington DC many times but this time I am taking the kids, any hotel recommendations???? we will all be in one room....

Try the Royal Sonesta at 21st and P Streets? It’s a great location.

We stayed here with kids - www.hotelgeorge.com/union-station-hotel/hotel-suites-washington-dc/ it's near the station as we were travelling by train but was lovely

How many kids, how old and what’s your budget? Most hotels have a one bed suite with a sofa bed, most also have rooms with 2 full sized beds - if either of those configurations would work for you it’ll be easy. We always stay at the 4 seasons and it’s never disappointed.

I stayed at Conrad Washington DC. Not sure if it was family friendly but gorgeous room!
