How many swimming costumes etc for a 4YO?

We're off to Crete in June for 7 nights. First time we've been anywhere hot with our 4YO. I'm thinking she's best wearing uv rashguards specially during major sun hours even if we're dilligent with suncream? So I'm thinking 3 swimsuits and 2 rashguards to go over them. We are more pool people than beach so won't be at the beach every day. Does this sound enough? Can people also recommend a decent once a day suncream that's good? I have some of the calypso to try as DH and I swear by it but LO has mild eczma so going to test it first. Any suggestions for holidauly 'must-haves' for a kid this age greatly welcome as well. TIA x

I would take one.
Maybe one swimsuit and one rash vest, but why would you need so many?

2 minimum. We found bikini bottoms/shorts with a rash vest the best combination (lived in that part of the world. A hooded towel was also useful. Having the two separate parts made toilet visits easier.

Thanks. I guess to have a rotation of wet and dry omes and in case one gets a massive chocolate ice cream stain on it or loads of sand on it or something Grin Point taken though I probably don't need any more than that. I'll be taking 3/4 myself but that's mostly coz I'll get bored in the same costume all week. DH on the other hand will probably live in the same pair of swimshorts all week unless the restaurants make him change Grin

Sounds OK to me. (More than 1 so if you take them off you can put on a dry one later.....might not have a balcony in the sun to dry it in.)

I always take some string and a few pegs for drying swim suits.....in case there isn't anything or it's windy.

Also at that age we used arm bands. Whilst they didn't use them at home in the pool we stayed some places where the whole pool was too deep for them. It meant they could jump in and out and be more independent of us in the pool (we were always there) and I stressed a little less about them falling in while my back was turned. My kids used them even when they could swim a bit without them so they could stay in much longer. (The first time I had nothing and someone gave us the vest with boyency on it... that worked too. But then I bought arm bands for each of them).

Two bikini bottoms / board shorts and two rash vests. Swim suits and rash vests are a complete PITA. One set on, one drying.

I would say at least 3, or combination of swimsuits and uv top and bikini bottoms.
You do need more than 1 because you might take her inside for a lie down after lunch time when it’s really hot and then would put her in a dry one and hang the other in the sun to dry. Or to go in to eat, or one gets dirty etc. next has some fab ones where they are a bikini or tankini with a long sleeved uv top which is much easier to pop on and off as needed.

Best Lon lasting sun creams are soltan once for kids, and p 20 but this does stain white clothes.

Definetley more than one. Maybe look for the UV ones with sleeves to negate having extra layers. Two or three should do. Pair of Crocs for slipping on and off at the beach/pool.

Thanks all. Some good ideas on here. She already has one rashguard set from last year which will fit and I've just ordered a 2nd bikini and rashguard from Next as pp suggested and then will have at least one extra swimsuit for good luck. Got a couple of nice summer dresses for the evenings too but I predict most nights we'll be so hot and bothered we don't even bother Grin So exciting to be able to get on a proper holiday at last x
