Looking to book a last minute Easter trip. Any recommendations for which island in mid April? Also if anyone has any hotel recommendations that would be useful. Dc are teens so don’t need a child friendly hotel.

I would say southern Tenerife, say Costa Adeje or South West Lanzarote, Puerto Del Carmen or Playa Blanca.
Avoid Fuertaventura in winter as it's very windy.
Make sure your hotel has a heated pool.
I've been to all the Isalnds at different times a year with small children and teens.
In summer I would recommend Costa Adeje because of Siam Parc which mine loved as teens and adults. It's not really warm enough at Easter though.

Gran Canaria ,Puerto Rico , Amadores area is the warmest part of the island .Southern Tenerife also good .
Not so keen on Lanzarote that time of year as we had rain a few times when we went in April and July wasn’t that great . Maybe we were just unlucky.

Sorry to jump om your thread @bendmeoverbackwards but we're thinking of a last minute Easter break too. Has anyone got any other recommendations for hotels? I'm also wondering if the weather will be warm enough to be poolside all day... Hmm

Twilightstarbright · 31/03/2022 20:33

@rachll I’m in Costa Adeje at the moment. It’s not warm enough to sit by the pool 9-6 but certainly nice enough to be outside and then poolside 12-3 ish.

rachll · 31/03/2022 21:28

Thank you @Twilightstarbright! That's reassuringSmile

I'd love some hotel recommendations if anyone has any??? Looking at Lanzarote most probably...

AnyFucker · 31/03/2022 21:32

I am just back from Lanzarote and it was 24 degree beach/pool weather during the day. Cold at night. The odd shower and windy spell but it passed within half a day and back to the heat.

AnyFucker · 31/03/2022 21:33

Once the clocks went forward it was bikini weather from 10 am to 5pm when the sun was out.

rachll · 31/03/2022 21:34

@AnyFucker that sounds the perfect temperature- I think I'm convinced!

Where did you stay? I'm thinking Playa Blanca as I've heard it's good for families...

AnyFucker · 31/03/2022 21:41

Playa Blanca. I have visited 8 times now. Love the place. I recommend hiring a car and staying in a villa though.

rachll · 01/04/2022 09:35

Thank @AnyFucker, that's good to hear!

the south of Gran Canaria - specifically Puerto Mogan, which is lovely and is in a micro-climate of its own due to the geography (it's at the end of a ravine)

Monkeytapper · 05/04/2022 16:08

I’m in Tenerife , Costa Adeje. Came Friday and it rained Saturday and Sunday…..sunny now, so a bit hit and miss

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 05/04/2022 16:11

Gran Canaria, in particular Mogan. It's got its own little microclimate I believe. And it's gorgeous. The Cordial Mogan Playa hotel is beautiful. They also own apartments next to it (can't remember what they're called) There's also a lovely H10 hotel which is relatively new. Alternatively, Meloneras or Maspalomas (in GC) are lovely resorts. The Lopesan group have a few hotels there, expensive though but really fab. You don't tend to get the wind on GC that you get on the other Canary Islands and the beaches are sandy (I don't like the volcanic sand on Tenerife)

We went to fuerterentura and had no wind (we had sailing booked and ended up motoring!) it's drier apparently than Tenerife. Make sure the pool is heated - the sea was warmer than the main pool in November. We liked the resort - magic life, good value for money
