UAE Al Hosn all clarification?

We’re flying into Dubai from the EU and then heading off to Abu Dhabi straight away the next morning. Our hotel is saying that they require the green pass on the Al Hosn app, which is fine, but I am wondering if we have to do our tests in the UAE or if we can do them before we arrive? If they need to be done in the UAE, then is there a testing place at Dubai airport? I know in Abu Dhabi there is one just after baggage claim, but can’t find info on Dubai. Help!

Sorry, that should be app clarification in the title, not all.

This may help a little but this applies to UK citizens:-

With effect from 26 February, travellers to the UAE do not need to take a COVID-19 PCR test before they travel if they are fully vaccinated or:
They hold a COVID-19 recovery certificate with a QR code dated within 30 days of departure
They are under 16 years of age for arrivals in Abu Dhabi or under 12 years of age for arrivals in Dubai
They have severe disabilities

Residents, tourists and visitors travelling from or through the UK and arriving in the UAE must still have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before departure and present the certificate at check in if:
They are not fully vaccinated and do not hold a COVID-19 recovery certificate
They are transiting the UAE and a test is required at their final destination

www.etihad.com/en-ae/travel-updates/abu-dhabi-travel-information gives up to date info.

I would also suggest you check with the airline you are flying with beforehand as testing rules and regulations change frequently.

@AttilaTheMeerkat yes I’ve read all of that information, thanks. The Al Hosn app still requires a PCR test to show green status, even though a PCR is no longer required to enter the country. My question was if that test for green status in the app has to be taken in the UAE (some sources suggested it did, but it was unclear).
