Hi
This is very much for a friend.
She and husband are travelling to Spain.
Grandchildren and children are joining them a couple of days later.
She is returning after a week but needs to bring one of the grandchildren back as they have a camp.
She has been told by travel agent she cannot book a single ticket for child or possibly she can with BA as an unaccompanied minor.
Cannot get hold of anyone at Ryan air (which is the cheapest carrier)
Can anyone advise or know what the best thing is to do? Or know where she stands law wise?
Thanks in advance.

I’d book all the travel as one way tickets on separate reservations. It shouldn’t make any price difference if it’s short haul. That way she can book just for her on the way out, but return for her and the grandchild. Whoever is accompanying the child out to Spain does the same thing in reverse. She might need some sort of legal doc saying she has the parents permission to take the grandchild so I’d look into that, but one-ways should at least sort the tickets issue. Unaccompanied minor hasn’t been an option for children on BA for years now FYI.

Presuming friend has a return flight for herself booked on Ryanair? How old is the child who needs to return?

and where is child resident (it makes a difference in some cases)?

If I've read this right, the child won't be flying unaccompanied, they will be with their grandparent?
Just book single flights.
So day 1 friend and DH out
Day 3 family out
Day 7 friend and child
Day 10 everyone else.

Thanks all....
I suddenly had a eureka moment when I posted and had a look on Skyscanner.
She hasn't booked anything yet. She went to book on one carrier and couldn't do it.
I will advise she books Ryan air one way and easyJet another.
He is 10 I believe and lives in uk with mum and dad. He just needs to come back early so he doesn't miss scout camp :)
Thanks all really appreciate it!
