Hotels in Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Any recommendations please? We had booked the Grand Riviera Princess but have had to change dates and the price has rocketed. So have to look for an alternative hotel.

What is the criteria? With kids? What ages? Quiet, busy, kids clubs, nightlife.

You need to give a bit more info :)

We booked the Riu Yucatan for our honeymoon and it was lovely and all of the staff were AMAZING!

Sorry @lookforthesun family of 5, 3 dds aged 21,19 and 16. Not fussed about nightlife. We want good pools, plenty of space poolside etc.

Location was excellent and right on the beach. Had about 3/4 pools, one of which was a quiet "adults" pool and the rest seemed suitable for families. Food was excellent with a range of restaurants too.
