Long Haul Flight. HELP!

Have an 11 hour flight in april and 4,3 and 2 yr old to take. Am dreading it. It is a day time flight, should I keep the kids up the night before to get them to sleep on the plane?

What are your kids like when they're tired? I would let my ds sleep as normal the night before as he's quite irritable and tantrumy if he's exhausted. Even if it does mean he's awake on the plane I'd prefer to have to walk him up and down the aisles than have to cope with checking in and going through security with a tantruming child.

Do your kids react well to Phenergen or Calpol Nightime? If so then perhaps you could dose them up once you're on the plane at the time that it's going to be their bedtime at your destination. That way they might sleep a bit on the plane and also reduce the number of days that you're dealing with jetlag. It's not good for them to be asleep for take off and landing though, so try and make sure they're not dosed with anything at those times.
