Half-board aparthotels in Playa Blanca?

Can anyone please recommend a good family-friendly hotel for half-board in PB that has rooms with little kitchenettes so you can make basic lunches? It's a bit of a pain to go half-board otherwise.

We were about to book the H10 Lanzarote Princess but it doesn't look as though the family rooms have kitchenettes 😳

Ideally we'd like a separate bedroom so we can put the kids on the sofabed in the living room, but I know this will bump the price even further!

THB Tropical Island looks like a good bet - has anyone been there?

Princess Yaiza? Their family rooms have a separate lounge area from the main bedroom but not really a kitchenette per se. Lovely hotel though but pricey!!

Tui Blue Flamingo Beach

Laquila · 19/03/2022 16:28

Thanks @DarlingCoffee, it does look lovely but there are only suites left for our dates and they're out of our price range!

@fivemoreminutes1 a couple of people have mentioned the Flamingo Beach but I've heard mixed things about the food - presumably you've had a good experience?

Did you find somewhere OP?! I’m on the hunt

Newgirls · 10/06/2022 08:40

Flamingo beach is right by one of the best (small) beaches

it’s not that far to get to the harbour for meals out if you like - 20 min walk or quick taxi

Newgirls · 10/06/2022 08:41

It is full of Brits though

AnyFucker · 10/06/2022 08:51

It’s not a “Brits Abroad” type of place though

Very chilled and quiet

The reviews are very mixed. Says food is like a school canteen a lot!

im thinking I just go with h10 Lanzarote princess and then we get lunch at the pool bar

Have you been mid October? What’s the weather like?

Newgirls · 10/06/2022 11:57

There’s a small supermarket nearby and a couple of reasonable beach cafes

The Mirador Papagayo in Playa Blanca has family rooms with a separate bedroom and cooking facilities.Haven't stayed there but have looked at it when booking Playa Blanca .

Thoughts on it?

Re Mirador Papagayo

It looks like it caters well for families.
Rooms look well equipped.
Liked the sea front location of the hotel.
Reviews were mixed when it came to the food.

famagusta · 10/06/2022 15:24

Thank you
the family rooms look very tired though, the bathrooms out of a decrepit care home! Think I’ll play safe and pay the extra

AnyFucker · 11/06/2022 06:56

@famagusta

I have been in October and the weather was sunny, around 24 degrees. We also had a heatwave and a Calima while we were there, when the temp reached 40 degrees for a day or two.

October is a great time to visit

famagusta · 11/06/2022 07:05

Thanks so much

thoughts on h10 Lanzarote princess?

AnyFucker · 11/06/2022 07:34

Haven’t stayed there, we like a villa holiday

it looks lovely though and have heard good things (we have visited Playa Blanca at least 8 times, including twice this year)

Laquila · 13/06/2022 22:07

Aggggh just wrote a very long post and bloody lost it!!

Edited version:

We stayed at the Relaxia Lanzasur - good family-friendly option with big onsite waterpark (never too busy) as well as normal pools. Food ok but not great - fine for a week though. Bungalows practical for families - one bdrm, bathroom and living room with sofa beds and kitchenettes. Terraces at the front but these didn't have much privacy.

H10 Timanfaya looked amazing but adults-only.

TUI Blue Flamingo Beach looked good - nice set-up/layout, and location right on the beach.

Princess Yaiza still looks amazing although pricey, and I don't know what the food's like.

Iberostar Lanzarote Park has had a make-over since we stayed a few years back and now looks pretty swish. Pools seemed more adult-focused though, although there was a kids pool with slides.

E-scooters everywhere! So much fun.

It's a good 40-min walk from Flamingo Beach to Marina Rubicon with kids and/or grandparents. Plenty of closer options for eating out though.

Is there a water park in or near playa blanca?

AnyFucker · 07/12/2022 08:48

Yep

christmas2022 · 07/12/2022 08:57

Thanks - not done or really looked at canaries before but this resort looks great for families.

Not to decide, villa, apartment, SC hotel or All inclusive

Laquila · 10/12/2022 15:14

@christmas2022 the Lanzasur has a good waterpark that's also open to the public, and is included if you stay there (or at least it was in our package). It's not huge but loads of seating/loungers and great for younger children.

This one looks good / the relaxia lansasur club - they do all inclusive too
