has anyone stayed at the hotel du vin in Brighton?

Our fifth wedding anniversary is coming up in a few months and our 2yo DD will be at the grandparents for the weekend (ahh, bliss!). We have stayed at the HdV in Henley but no one we know has tried the Brighton one and we like the idea of Brighton. Has anyone tried it and loved it or hated it?

Also, I will be 7.5mths pregnant at the time and looking for a spa that does pregnancy safe massages. Does anyone know anywhere in Brighton?

Thanks

Fiona

We went there in 2005, so it has been a while.

Our room was very nice - we had the one with 2 baths side by side and a telescope looking out of the window. Not much of a sea view - you had to turn your head and squint a bit because it is down a side street.

The service was good and the food and wine lovely (as you would expect for HDV). DH ordered some roses for me (it was my birthday) and the hotel found really good ones.

The only complaint is that it was a bit noisy. This may be because of the room that we had; it was near the top of the stairs up from reception (not far from the bar) and also overlooked where the hotel's bins were collected, which woke me up in the morning.

In generaly, though, it was a really nice weekend.

HTH - have a good anniversary!
