Mallorca in Easter

Forgotten how to plan holiday!

Have always fancied Mallorca and thinking of going first week of April with DC 18 and 15.

Hear that Puerta Pollensa is good but not sure I fancy over an hour's transfer. Magaluf is closer to airport but hear that it can be quite loud.

Is PP worth the transfer time and can anyone recommend hotels?

Is there anywhere closer to airport that is pretty, has good beaches, restaurants but not too busy? Don't want dead quiet as DC probably would like a bit of activity but want some quiet too.

Puerto Pollensa is gorgeous and IMO worth the transfer, but if you want to be closer to the airport maybe look at Santa Ponsa or Palmanova too.

A note though, early April is very early for Majorca. It's still their off-season so won't be busy/loud anywhere really, and you may find that not everything is open especially pre-Easter.

PP sounds really lovely.

I'm thinking older dd and I may go as younger one has exams and not keen to travel so we could do SP or Palma nova and save PP for summer.

Seems over optimistic that we'll be sunbathing in April so maybe won't push the boat out for April holiday and reserve really nice holiday for a summer or October break.

Have you been in April/May and how did you find weather?

April is definitely sunbathing weather but you may find the water cold for swimming.

I've been in May but only on work trips rather than holiday, so the weather's not been a consideration. It's always been pleasant though.

Sun bathing will do! I've been trying out wild swimming here, so will have a go there too.

We go to the Balearics every April. It's not sun bathing weather.... Typically jeans/shorts and t shirt during the day and jumper at night. The "season" starts early this year which is in May so local places will be open, no clubs etc. My young children love running in and out of the sea but the pool is too cold. All that said it's a beautiful time to visit the islands if you like quiet, beautiful empty beaches (locals will be wearing their fur coats still) and the feel of the sunshine on your skin.

It's a lovely temperature for sightseeing but I would not be lying down sunbathing unless you are very hardy. I even found the canaries a bit cool in autumn so I wouldn't think October was an option really either for guaranteed warm (if there's such a thing)

I agree re April temps, but for me the main issue is that it's off season so will be very quiet and lots of places still closed. I'd suggest Palma OP, a great option at any time of year.
