Hello,
Just wondering has anyone been to cala D'or in Majorca. I have 2 teens. Wondering is it a nice place. Thinking of staying in azul garden. Any advice appreciated or should we consider Salou.

Nice place but boring, have no idea what teenagers would do there, fine for very young kids though.

We went when DC were 14/16.
It's a lovely resort, quite Spanish feeling, lots of nice restaurants. Not dominated by AI hotels.
It depends what you want from a holiday. Mine used to spend all day in pool and the hotel had a gym which they used as well. Evenings we would wander round and have a nice meal and a stop at a bar. Same thing we enjoyed whatever age the DC were.

Salou is a totally different place, much more touristy.

I've been with young kids and am going again next month, adult only. It is a lovely resort. There is a main square with bars/restaurants but nothing too rowdy, and also a marina with more bars and restaurants. There are lots of options of water sports and boat trips but I would say not much else for teens. I guess it depends on what they enjoy doing. But it is lovely and not typical 'Brits abroad'.

We went for the first time last summer. REally loved it. I guess it depends what your teens want? I enjoyed that it wasnt a totally British resort town if that makes sense. We are going back this year

I'd agree with this. Went with DH pre kids and found it quite dull. There's a beach and a few shops so your teens need to be happy just lounging around all day really. We prefer Santa Eulalia/Escana in Ibiza or Puerto Pollensa in Majorca. Both have a bit more going on whilst not being too touristy. Also from Puerto Pollensa It's easy to hire a car and visit larger resorts such as Alcudia.

thanks for all the replies. We have been to Alcudia and Salou before and liked both. I guess was thinking of Cala D'Or as an option but dont want it to quite. mine are 13 and 16 now i guess it is pre covid since we went on holiday so they are defo teens now, Just one question is there shops there .Mine like browsing in them and maybe picking up some sandals or jerseys etc.

It depends what the teenagers are like but the resort itself is lovely. There are plenty of nice little shops and several nice beaches within walking distance of the centre.

The hotel you have picked looks beautiful but I would not stay that far east of the resort because we love eating in the harbour area.

daisygirl999 · 19/03/2022 22:01

hi therealistbub - where would you recommend staying

We stay near Cala Gran as it’s right near the centre, we prefer that to the harbour

Amlaughingsomuchnot · 19/03/2022 22:06

Absolutely love CalaD’Or . Your teenager are at an awkward age because too young to be out clubbing but old enough to want to go out for a wander in the evenings. The marina is lovely and the whole resort is safe and has a Spanish feel . Lots of boat trips and water sports .

TheRealistBub · 25/03/2022 14:27

Yes a hotel around Cala Gran is the best location in my opinion.

Or get a slightly bigger group of people and hire a villa.

BeHappy91818 · 27/03/2022 23:03

I was looking at here for next year. My kids would be 12 & 10. I have a friend going in July and was waiting for her to get back before I book though.

Has anyone been to Cala Ferrera? Is it ok?

Clymene · 27/03/2022 23:15

Port de Soller?

Clockstooforward · 28/03/2022 08:46

Cala Ferrera is where we stayed so many times. Our apartment was on the cliff . Absolutely beautiful there . Small beach ,lots of local shops, restaurants etc. Boat trips to the other beaches and a walk into Cala dor and marina …I want to come !
