Fun Barcelona restaurant
wordlehurdle · 15/03/2022 20:24
just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a lively restaurant for a group of people?
we are going to Barcelona to celebrate a milestone birthday/ retirement and are taking adult children and partners.
we are staying at a hotel in Eixample.
I would like something fun but not rough maybe some music, some reasonable food but not too pricey as it’s already costing £££££
any suggestions would be great

For an evening meal, definitely Guzzo or El Bosc de les Fades. Have a drink at Bar Marsella

Not exactly what you asked for and maybe more than what you want to spend but I've done this twice and woukd highly recommend it.

2nd Els Quattro Gats. www.elnacionalbcn.com/en/ El Nacional is fabulous - gorgeous building. My fave in BCN is Rao for posh tapas type food - you order lots of dishes and the food keeps coming. For a group they have separate vaulted room. raobcn.com/

Just to add if your staying a few days and thinking if doing the tapas tour do it as soon as you can as it gives you an overview if the different areas, takes you to several bars and restaurants you might want to go back to and gives you a potted history of Barcelona. You will have plenty to eat and drink as it takes you round the city.

The tapas tour is awesome - also try Makamaka right near the beach - superb burgers and lovely cocktails - can sit outside.

We did a tapas tour for my 50th with Strawberry tours I think. It was free - but you paid for what you had as you went round and then tipped the guide. It was fabulous but I do remember he then left us in the middle of the Gothic Quarter slightly pissed and it took us ages to find our way back to apartment. It was part of the experience though :)
