Do I need to send my passport in with child's first passport application?

Sorry, can't seem to find the answer online! Wanting to get childrens first passports for summer holidays but I'm due to go away in May so I do t want to send my passport in with the application!

No. You just put your passport number on the application

Do you have a UK passport? If so, you don't need to send it.

No, you do not have to send your own passport in.
