Best place for families for a week in Provence

We're coming to Europe from the Antipodes in July this year, and keen to do a week in Provence with DS (9) and DD (7). After London and Paris, we're wanting somewhere very relaxing for the children - ideally with a pool and a beach close by (so we can bribe them with swims after exploring the area). We were wondering if a camping was a good idea - potentially in the Gorges du Verdon? We'd take a TGV to Aix, then hire a car so could travel around. Has anyone done a camping in Provence that they'd recommend? Or had an amazing family holiday in a little Provencal village that they would rave about? Thanks in advance!

Following! We've settled on provence as our destination for summer holiday but going back and forth trying to work out which villages are best for the kids!

We took the train from London to Avignon for years when the DC were little.
We would hire a car and drive down to a little town called Les Issambres.
It had everything we needed. Lovely beach, amenities, good cafes and restaurants. But it's not overly busy
From there you can get the ferry to St Tropez and Cannes.
I would really recommend it

Huttopia Sud Ardeche is a lovely relaxing site with lots to explore nearby.

Brilliant, thanks both - that's given me somewhere to start looking at least!

I had a lovely week in Oppede. We stayed in a villa that was split into apartments and we all had access to a great pool. It was near to lots of beautiful hilltop towns to wander round. And lavender!

You mention camping we have found the French caravan park chain Siblu great for kids of that age. We've been to a few but not this one in Provence www.siblu.co.uk/camping/france/south-coast/le-montourey great pool complex etc...we have mostly taken day trips every other day from them. Mostly French people use them but speak English well

Although not Provence this was our favourite we www.siblu.co.uk/camping/france/south-coast did day trips to carcassone and Beziers and it was easy by train from Paris
