Have you ever considered camping? If you know anyone with a big enough tent perhaps you could borrow it, or alternatively if you could afford to buy one this year then it's an investment for future years (you could try ebay) camping isn't for everyone admittedly but it is as cheap or expensive as you make it. I am always skint! No matter how hard I try and save for hols, and camping means that we can have a holiday every summer. It really is a getaway, ditch the technology, the make up, the tedious everyday stuff and get all practical and outdoorsy with the kids. We all love and it and as I say it's all so cheap! Where do you live? I'm in Birmingham and we camp in Wales every year, bloody lovely place!

I had a really good time at butlins minehead. Loads of things for my son to do, the meals in thier was ok, not greta mainly cheap rubbish but this wont affect you.

Get to swimming early because of the lockers and book the bowling.

Have fun

i always do the sun holidays and usually go to pontins. however. i have been to butlins and haven as well and butlins is most defeniately the best of the lot. there really is loads to do all day every day if you wish to. i am going to take ds 6 this year with the sun again.

moljam · 05/01/2008 14:36

how do those sun vouchers work?got one today but i dont understand really!how many vouchers do you have to collect?is it daily?and where/when are holidays?

the eating thing wont really effect us although im sure my disgusting dh will be looking for burger or crap.were all so hard to cater for/fussy it will be easier to do self catering.

depends if you need to go in the school holidays with the sun vouchers. if you not bothered about getting them then you collect the tokens and then about wed they give out a booking form you attach tokens a selection of dates, parks you want and they allocate you one. check that the park your going to doesnt have any extra prices added on. butlins do but still works out alot cheaper then booking with them direct.
