I am feeling apprehensive about booking a holiday for July to Turkey given the current situation with Russia are you still booking a holiday abroad for this year?

Yes I am, but I looked at a map first.

I keep getting these pop-up adverts for very cheap holidays to Poland.......

What's your conclusion after looking at the map?

I would only go west for a foreign holiday this year....so its Balearics for me

DamnUserName21 · 07/03/2022 20:06

Booked for Turkey pre-invasion. Marmaris so west; Will still go subject to FCO advice.

Turkey cannot afford to get involved. It imports a lot from Russia and Russian tourism is a big contributor to the economy.

We are going to Turkey.
With regards looking at a map the distance between Ukraine and the Turkish resorts is about the same as the distance from England to Poland.

I am going on holiday, in a few weeks I'm going to Portugal and then sicily a few months after. I wouldn't hesitate to book Turkey.

Hi, my friend is going to Turkey next month with her teenager. Booked a year ago. They will be staying around Antalya. What's the concern? FCO advice hasn't changed in light of the Ukraine invasion.

And I will be flying to Hungary in May to see my brother and his new baby. This neighbours Ukraine and I'm not remotely concerned about my safety.

I can't even explain why I'm feeling anxious, I keep trying to book our holiday and then I just think about Russia, it's stupid I know and we've been to turkey many times we love the place and the people. Not knowing what will happen next with Russia and the rest of the world just worries me.
