for a family with 6 and 4 year old

we don't really do holidays since having kids .. well not well .. they've never been abroad .. we used to do backpack and independent travel pre-kids so I've got a stick up my ass about package holidays if I'm honest

We've never taken DS to a 'proper' holiday complex - just found flights and places to stay on the net, and then found interesting things to do when we get there - 6 and 4 year olds enjoy days out to ruins etc, and you can use a real, akchual beach instead of a chlorinated bacterial soup of a hotel pool.

Can you detect the stick of my own?

S'pose it depends if you want to offload the kids into a kids club or not. Nothing wrong with that - but the only time we did stay in a holiday comples place (hotel in DP's family's country to avoid family for 4 days) DS refused to go in the v good children's club anyway!)

T'is a fab place - yet to find anyone who hasn't had a good time there. Family who run it are so lovely - got a Christmas card from them this year, even though we didn't go last summer.
