Where can I take an only (male) teen after GCSEs? fairly active but not wanting anything too structured, must have outdoor pool and max relaxation possibilities, wants to do stuff independently of us but is quite shy. MTB opportunities would be a bonus. Think his ideal would be a luxe villa within walking distance of stuff to do, which is not easy! Considering Greece, Croatia...?

Fodele Beach Resort has mountain biking

Can he take a friend? We have post GCSE and A level trip this year, each taking a friend

They are paying for their flights, we pay for villa and food

Is there not a big trip planned with mates? Rite of passage type thing to Newquay?

Unlikely as they are only 16.

Is there not a big trip planned with mates? Rite of passage type thing to Newquay? for 15/16 year olds? @TizerorFizz did you get confused with A levels?

TizerorFizz · 06/03/2022 07:09

No. Neighbours DC all went off to do similar.

aramox1 · 06/03/2022 08:05

Newquay definitely not on the horizon here (perhaps luckily). Portugal? Spain? Where would be not massively hot, with stuff to do and potential for activities/ exploring?

I’d go to the Alps/Dolomites. Somewhere like Merano

balzamico · 06/03/2022 08:14

How about Morzine which is great for mountain biking, also lots of walking and outdoorsy stuff to do but not as hot as Greece etc I don't think
(It's a French ski resort, less than 1.5 hours from Geneva with tonnes of accommodation)

SFisnotsimple · 06/03/2022 13:21

Lake Garda is fantastic!! Loads to do and see - mountain biking, cable cars up Malcesine, windsurfing etc. And not too baking.

aramox1 · 07/03/2022 13:20

Both those look promising - thank you!
