Hi All

What travel cots do you recommend for travel abroad?

Would like to consider compact- able to fit in suitcase, reasonable weight, reasonable mattress, mesh for hot weather abroad

Thank you in advance

How old. If under 6 months we have this one. You do have to buy the matrrss seperately. But like pp said most hotels have cots

Family friendly accommodation will provide cots. Even private rentals we used abroad provided a travel cot on request.

Sorry I should have been clearer about both things. It’s our families accommodation so I need to provide it hence the post. And baby is 9 months. So does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you in advance

a friend of mine has this and its really nice. Won't fit into a suitcase but most airlines will let you travel with one:

If you’re going to stay with family then why don’t you get a travel cot delivered before you arrive? Travel cots are mostly too big to fit in a suitcase. There’s some like the baby bjorn one that are fairly compact and can get a carrier to go with it, but mostly they’re 8kg and too long for a large suitcase.

Embracelife · 27/02/2022 20:53

Just buy one on location and leave it there

www.babybjorn.co.uk/travel-cot/travel-cot-light/ - but it’s very expensive. It would be cheaper to buy an ordinary travel cot to live at your family’s place and another for your traveling place by car.

We had the moses basket sized version of this when we travelled with my daughter under 6 months, and we'll probably buy this one for our next trip as we found the smaller one great for traveling knowing it would easily fit in our cases and was easy to use.

You can get baby tents that go on a normal bed.....

Kitkat151 · 27/02/2022 21:33

Buy it there and leave it....they are very heavy and bulky

GreenCereal · 27/02/2022 21:40

We have this one - uk.philandteds.com/products/traveller-travel-cot
It's super light and easy to carry, I think I could fit it into our biggest suitcase if I tried. Highly recommended.

MinnieMountain · 28/02/2022 07:06

We had one of these www.littlelife.com/products/travel-eat-and-sleep/arc-2-lightweight-travel-cot

Look for a FB group for the area you are going, lots of Baby Equipment hire companies all over. Or often someone local May have one you can borrow. We've never had trouble hiring in lots of different countries.
