Family weekend in Bath

We're all going to Bath for the weekend next week - Me, dh, dd1 who is nearly 5(or "4 to 5" as she puts it) and dd2 who is 6 months on Sunday. Any ideas for nice family things to do in or around Bath at this time of year would be welcomed.

Not grand this but Victoria Park on the Upper Bristol road in Bath (next door to the long stay car park) is one of the best I've ever been to. It has a permanent merry go round and loads of climbing frames, swings, etc. The last time I went there my dd (13 months) slept in her buggy for two hours at lunch time while my sisters children (7 and 9) had a ball. If your 6 month old will sleep in her buggy then maybe your four year old can enjoy the park. (The merry go round is for very little ones) Hope that helps

Victoria Park is great, ragtaggle's right, good for a run around if you've been doing shops or something earlier. If your dd is interested in that sort of thing, the Costume Museum is good, and the Avon Valley Railway is a nice afternoon out a few miles out of Bath if you get a nice day (they do Santa Specials at this time of year). If it's rainy and you're stuck, the swimming pool has slides etc and a kids'pool.

Thanks raggletaggle and mrsflowerpot. I'd heard about the park and will go if the weather's nice. Just one more question - anyone know of any nice places to eat with kids in Bath?

Hmmmm...

Indoor Stuff:
The Costume Museum
Jane Austen Centre
Roman Baths Museum
Sally Lunns House

Outdoor Stuff
Parks
Open Top Bus Tour
Boat Trip

If the weather is nice there are some cafes near the Abbey where you can have lunch outside and watch the street entertainers. There is a fudge shop there where you can watch them making the fudge drool

Bit of feedback - had a lovely time in Bath, thanks for all the recommendations. Open top bus tour and santa special on Avon Valley Railway were a great hit with dd1 and dh! Went to an Italian restaurant called Salvo on South/North Parade which, despite being down some awkward steps, was very nice to the children for a grown-up restaurant at 8pm on a Friday, and did pasta as we asked for it for dd1. I would NOT recommend taking a three-wheeler round the city centre on a Saturday four weeks before Christmas, however!
