We have 5 days to get from Frosinone to San Gimignano this summer. Two adults and one 8 year old and we will have a car. Where would you stay, what would you see en route..? We will have been in Rome for a few nights so that’s already checked off the list. Would you go for coast or mountains? Thanks in advance!

try the national parks around Latina, there is an interesting Mussolini sponsored designed town - Sabaudia

Tivoli gardens

Take the coast road from Fiumicimo - lots of towns with nice fish restaurants.

Frascati is worth a visit.

We drove the inland route, and loved Orvieto, Bolsena (town and lake, well worth staying a day or 2 there) and of course Siena.

On lake Bolsena, we stayed at a little campsite called Lido Camping Village. It’s right on the lake, has a nice pool (although it’s a no frills site so no slides), and had several campsite cats! It was a great base for swimming in the lake, relaxing and also walking round the lake to Bolsena for a meal etc.
