Somewhere between Calais and The Vendee?

We've booked a week at La Garangeoire (on the recommendation of lots of MNetters) but want to book another week somewhere else - I'm thinking of the Loire Valley or Brittany, hopefully somewhere not too far out of our way....

Any recommendations?

If you want o break up your h=journey I'd look around the Rouen area - same distance calais to briattany and the Vendee. We broke it up in Rouen and it was lovely. Still take you the same lebngth of time to drive to Brittany as it would direct ro Vendee. Why not rake kids t Disney paris and stay in campsite nearby?

Leslaki - dh won't even consider driving anywhere near Paris during the summer hols and tbh I think it would be a bit hot for us. We did stop off in Rouen enroute before (motel) - do you know of any campsites around there?

I'm looking into the Chateau des Marais in the Loire valley - has anyone been recently?
