Madeira - testing?

Couldn’t see a recent thread. Anyone been to Madeira recently? They test you for free at the airport unless you’ve had a negative test in last 48h. We’d rather test before going but can’t figure out the requirements. Anyone know what requirements they have for the test, eg can a LFT result uploaded in the nhs app count?

No you cant use nhs tests for travel. You would need to pay for private tests

Googling suggests no test if fully vaccinated

No test needed if fully vaccinated.

Have a read also of the Foreign office travel advice for Madeira under entry requirements. This is up to date. A passenger locator form specifically for Madeira would also need to be completed.

You need to register on the Madeira Safe website and follow the guidance in there. We went last September and it was all very straightforward, but the rules are different now I think.
