Villa holiday- Lanzarote

We have been on a few villa holidays over the years, mostly in Lanzarote. Has anyone been recently? Specifically to Playa Blanca and how has it been with Covid?

Are we mad for thinking of booking a villa holiday and separate flights, we won't be covered like a package holiday I'm assuming.

We're usually do this pre Covid and are doing this again on Monday. Fingers crossed but much cheaper and more choice than package 🤞🏼

My first time here, but is apparently a bit quieter than usual for time of year. Masks are required in shops, restaurants, etc, and also outside if less than 1.5m distancing. They are strict about mask-wearing - saw a couple the other day having to buy masks before they could go into Spar, and at Timanfaya yesterday a guide insisted I wear a mask because I was part of a group - had to slink back to car to get it.

But other than that, it is fab! I’m Scottish, so am used to the mask-wearing anyway.

Oh, and re flights - EasyJet cancelled my original outward flight, so I’m here for 3 days less than planned. Flight I did get wasn’t full - no-one else in my row and from my seat I could see 3 completely empty rows. So if booking separately that could be a risk.

@justaweeone Hope you have a lovely time! Have you booked separate flights etc? Would you let me know how that all goes when you travel? We'll be travelling with 2 young children so more cautious than in pre-Covid times.

@Albless Oh fantastic! We've only ever been in off-peak (Jan & Feb) so that's all we know with Playa Blanca. Fine for mask wearing, it's normal now isn't it.
Can't believe your flights were cancelled! That's one of the things I would fear. You really are at their mercy. Have a fantastic remainder of your break. We're hoping we'll get to go soon and go back to some of our favourite places to eat if they haven't had to shutdown.
