Please recommend a lovely hotel in Athens

Just for a couple of nights. Fairly central, just me and DH. A roof terrace bar/restaurant would be a bonus. Not corporate. Small ideally. Thank you in advance for your recommendations.

I like the area around Lycabettus hill. Walkable to the centre and great views over to acropolis etc. plus lots of places to eat out.

Try Duke Boutique Suites or St George Lycabettus. Both have rooftops, IIRC.

The Alex in Piraeus... Views of the Acropolis, walking distance to a beautiful harbour, roof terrace, and I think a couple of stops on the metro into the centre of town if I remember rightly (went there pre-Covid so bit of a blur!)

We stayed pre covid. The views were fabulous and the Kolonaki area is great.

I stayed at Villa Brown Ermou. It was in the heart of Athens and so central to everything! Lovely rooms

We stayed at Oniro City in Kolonaki, it's small and new, great location and neighborhood. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Athens Cypria, not mega fancy but great central location and a cute little bar with views of the acropolis. Enjoy Athens! We twinned with Santorini in October 2020 and loved it, surpassed expectations.

New Hotel, Ergon House, Grande Bretagne, Athens Was, Monsieur Didot, Perianth or Stila. All very different but all are special.

We stayed at hotel illissos - it was walkable to the historic centre and there was a rooftop bar with a view of the acropolis.

Worth looking on Mr & Mrs Smith...

Another vote for St George Lycabettus

It's been a few years now, but we stayed at the Athens Gate hotel, with a room overlooking the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Breakfast is served In their rooftop restaurant with amazing views of the Acropolis. Fantastic place.

Two of my recommendations are on that web site. I looked at Conde Nast Traveller who are also reliable and chic.
