Australian Tourist Visa

I applied for visas for DH and I last week, and they were granted within minutes.

Applied for DD last night, and nothing has come through yet. I know this is not unusual.

Be grateful to hear of anyone else's experiences, or anything I can do to hurry things along (I know I can't really!).

I applied a few days ago. Adults came through straight away but not the children.
When I applied about 5 years ago it took about 3 days for the children's to come through.

Still waiting for DD's visa - she is an adult, so hopefully it won't be too long. Her flights aren't booked until April, so fingers crossed!

I've applied for ones for me, friends, my DH and my parents several times. They have ranged from instantaneous to 5 days.

You can't hurry them along and there been no rhyme or reason for the delays to some and speed of others.

Just logged in to see the application is shown as 'Received', and then another entry on the same day saying 'Incomplete'. Presumably they would have contacted her if they needed more information? Nothing in the junk file.

That sounds odd. Keep an eye on it. Re the contact. I actually did my Dads visitor visa for him when I lived there and I managed to get his name wrong. I hunted about and found an email address and emailed with the application number and the issue and to be fair to them they emailed back within a few hours confirming grant of visa and that they had sorted the name.

You might want to just bash off an email saying you are concerned about the 'incomplete status' and are worried if you've missed anything.

I've applied for several for me and DH has too and the last time I applied it took ages. Was odd because others have been granted pretty quickly. I left it to the last minute with a false sense of security and I was panicking as my flight date was literally a day away and it was granted at the end of the 5th day. No idea why this one took so long. Same with DH. One took a random 3 days. When others have taken seconds!
Just noticed their website says there are visa processing delays and that priority is being given to people to support urgent travel. If you mr travel date is ages away I wouldn't worry. Plenty of time to get it sorted and I'm assuming your DD doesn't have a reason for being rejected for a visa (previous felonies, breaching visa conditions, failing to leave Aus etc )

Did it come through?

Still received nothing. It still says 'incomplete'.

I checked the application yesterday, and filled in one of their generic forms asking what they actually need, as everything is fine on the form I submitted.

We originally planned to fly on Saturday, but now DD is going mid April, so not in an immediate panic, but just bemused as I can't seem to do anything.

The panic will start in March!

It came this morning! Email waiting first thing!

Thank goodness for that - 11 days, so not bad at all.
