Hi all, we are going to Croatia end of April with 2 kids (7,9).
We are flying to Split for a few days and then plan to travel to Dubrovnik via ferry.
The ferry stops off at a few islands along the way and the plan is to stay on one of the islands for a night or two.
Does anyone have any recommendations on which island would be best to visit?
Any recommendations for Croatia in general also appreciated Smile

Love Brac, Hvar Town is more adult oriented (and expensive), Mjlet has a lovely national park and lake, Korcula is my favourite town on the islands - medieval and laid out like the ribs of a boat

When you're in Split, make sure you see the wizard behind Diocletian's palace, and there is a great ice cream place called Luka on the other side of the old town, again away from the front. The front is pretty but the eating places there are expensive and not brilliant you're better going to somewhere in the side streets, Galija pizza is good for children, maybe Bokeria too, Zinfandel is more aimed at adults, as is an excellent cheese & wine bar on the same road as Galija but closer to the sea front. All this comes with the disclaimer that I've not been since 2019 due to the pandemic, but I was a frequent visitor before then

I'm jealous. I love Croatia and have had two holidays there. It might not be that warm so take some warm clothes as well. And take comfortable flat walking shoes. The paving stones in Dubrovnik are very slippery when wet.

Thanks for the tip!!
We’re actually travelling from split then further inland (before Dubrovnik) to visit the area my husband’s grandad was from so it’s an extra special holiday for us Grin
