Myself and dp are going to vegas in June. I've been trying to make an itinerary for what we are going to do there but there is just so much stuff online it's a bit overwhelming.

Anyone who has been, what are your recommendations?

OP posts:

Go to any show.
Play the slots.
Go to see Frank Marino.
Grand Canyon via helicopter with champagne picnic.
Caesar’s palace
Planet Hollywood
Book a limo (loads of people do)
Fremont street
There was this bar/shop where a women would swim in a cocktail glass every hour!

TizerorFizz · 06/02/2022 09:11

Hellishly hot in June.

tanstaafl · 06/02/2022 09:15

How long you going for OP?
Have to be honest we find the casinos dispiriting places so by way of contrast….
Hire a car and drive out to Red Rocks area, west of LV for sunrise or sunset. Also Hoover Dam.
Years ago with DC, we had ‘kayak down the Colorado river starting at the Hoover dam’ day. Starts early 6am but lasts 6 hours, lunch provided.
If you want a road trip within your holiday, book to stay a night or two in Tusayan then visit the Grand Canyon at the south rim.
Mojave desert is south of LV too.

Helicopter tour if budget allows. It was the best bit of our vegas break.

Go see the actual golden nugget in the Golden Nugget 🤣 the old town but was just great!
Mafia museum
Zip line on Fremont Street
The welcome to Las Vegas sign with the singing Elvis
See a concert, we just got last min ones to Gwen Stefani- weren’t too expensive but well worth it
Drive To Hoover dam
We drove to the desert hot place (can’t remember name) vis the area 42 alien cafe bit. That was a fab day out
The Singing fat Elvis in one of the hotels was also a highlight. He calls himself that, it’s not me being mean!

Cheermonger · 06/02/2022 09:20

Death Valley 🤣 except we went in October and it was unseasonably cold and we all had coats on next to the sign saying ‘hottest place on Earth’ 😬

Ilikewinter · 06/02/2022 09:26

Google/trip advisor for Scoot City Tours, you go out to Red Rock Canyon on these fabulous 3 wheeler cars, it was brilliant......however in June you'll likely melt!.
Theres 2 outlet malls you can go to by bus, only a short drive away, but ive no idea on exchange rates and if they are such a bargain these days.
Book a show if you can, go with the flow because youll have a plan and something will distract you.
Most of all have fun and dont forget the sunscreen 😎

Everything all said but most of all, just walk in and out of the hotels. They are massive. You can people watch for hours and hours.

RusholmeRuffian · 06/02/2022 17:34

Death Valley
The Neon Boneyard (where Vegas signs go to die)
The Mob Museum
Duelling Pianos at NYNY

MsSquiz · 06/02/2022 17:40

Cirque shows are amazing! We've seen 5 of them in Vegas and they were all brilliant.

Helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon - an early start, but worth it before it gets too hot!

The fancy bars in the hotels are lovely, but you can get dirt cheap margaritas in Downtown Vegas (Fremont Street) and there's such a fun atmosphere, completely different to the hotels.

We spent a lot of time just wandering and people watching in the various hotels and many of them are linked so you don't have to go outside in the baking sun!

We didn't do the neon graveyard because we didn't have time, but it's somewhere I'd definitely try to visit if we go again

Thanks for the post @Fuzzyduckduckyfuzz We're planning on going in June too, so watching this thread with interest.

I'm kinda embarrassed to admit this but I waste a lot of time on tiktok watching videos about cool stuff to do in Vegas. Trendy traveller is one of my favorites but there are lots.

chipsandpeas · 30/04/2022 19:07

freemont street is a good night and theres the slotzilla zipline

littlemisslozza · 30/04/2022 19:17

Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon and Death valley if you have time to explore a bit.

mossberry · 30/04/2022 19:29

I've been to Vegas twice (got married there the first time).

Definitely do a Cirque show - my favourite is Michael Jackson One. O is also good.

Blue Man Group is lots of fun.

Helicopter over the Grand Canyon. (With or without the champagne picnic).

Do spend some time in the casinos - New York, New York has a great atmosphere and there's often live music on outside. Caesar's Palace also good and it has a shopping mall which is worth a look around.

Watch the fountains outside of Bellagio.

My favourite nights out were on Freemont Street. Live music, the zip line, old Vegas casinos and an amazing atmosphere.

Choose a hotel with a good pool if you're going in June, it'll be hot.

BritWifeInUSA · 01/05/2022 02:40

I’ve been to Vegas around 12 times I think and we lived there for a while when I first moved to the US.

Shin Lim is the best magician I’ve ever seen. If he has a show when you’re there, definitely go see it. June is going to be very hot. Over 100 Fahrenheit each day. Hope your hotel has a nice pool!

People watching, fine dining, walking around is the best in Vegas.
