Are there any Travel Agents on here?

Inspired by another thread.

I haven't used a Travel Agent for years because I have assumed that they are tied to using big chains and that something very tailor made would be much more expensive than going direct.

However the 'How are Travel Agents Paid' thread suggests that I'm wrong.

I tend to use Easyjet (occasionally Ryanair) and apartments on Booking.Com. Trains between destinations.

If I gave a Travel Agent the exact itinerary that I wanted, could they book it for me? So a win win?

If so, a recommendation of a good travel agent would be appreciated.

I don't know if TAs do s/c holidays.
They do have access to companies that are not easily found on WWW.
We've used suitcasetravel.co.uk & can recommend them. They're both ATOL & ABTA, very helpful & knowledgeable (NO I don't work for them !)

I'd never use booking.com again . Stayed in the worst hotel in UK & they were not interested - even though the hotel in Whitby (read extravagantly overpriced b&b) was slating booking.com !

Trailfinders have always been able to do exactly what I am after, including having different family members flying out at different times.

A couple of times they couldn’t get the exact accommodation I wanted but they were always able to come up with a suitable alternative. They were also great with cancellations through covid - although you can’t choose to cancel and rebook like you can with certain airlines. You are committing to that trip on those dates unless there is a travel restriction.
