Fast track passport or not

I'm hoping to book holiday very soon, lost DD's passport but it was due to expire very soon anyway.

The holiday I want to book is 31st March. Do I go through the normal online service or do you think I need to do the one week fast track?
Also can you book holiday without passport number.

I just got DS' passport renewed in a month. It wasn't lost though. You can book without passport details but would need to fill them on before travel.

I just had to renew my passport and get DD's first passport. Both applications required additional documents to be sent but from filling in the application to receiving the passports took only 17 days, I was really surprised!

If mine and PP's experiences are anything to go by you probably have enough time however it is a risk if anything were to be delayed or lost. Could you check with the company you're looking to book with how far in advance you'd need to submit your passport details?

I’d defo fast track

The passport office say to allow 10 weeks for a passport renewal.

I did the 1 day renewal cost 177 but I hadn’t lost my passport so not sure if you can do that without the passport
I wouldn’t book anything till you got the passport
If you have lost it think you have to report it as lost /stolen

Fast track will be less stressful.

I always recommend this site to check how long different types of application are taking at the moment: www.passportwaitingtime.co.uk/
