Where to stay in LA? West Hollywood?

Planning a holiday to California and will be in LA for 4 nights, I am thinking we would be best basing ourselves in West Hollywood as it is accessible to most of the things we want to see and do. Does anyone have any recommendations of hotels in the area?

Don't mind spending a little more on a good hotel, and no kids so don't need to worry about it being child-friendly.

I guess it depends what are the things you want to see and do. We stayed at the Andaz West Hollywood. To be honest, LA is so sprawled out over a massive area, we made use of our hire car anyway, public transport isn't up to much. So we did spend time driving about for the different things we wanted to do (Disney, the beaches, shopping malls etc).

Just to add, we stayed in Anaheim for our second visit and that was a better location for the things we wanted to do (as above)
