Help! Understanding covid test travel rules when crossing multiple boarders

Wonder if anyone could help on this one. We are hopefully going skiing in France over Feb half term. We always get the Eurostar to Paris and then the train south. The problem we have is that we cross from France into Italy (final train stop) and then get a taxi crossing back into France. The whole journey takes less than 24 hrs but unlikely to be able to time the first covid test in UK to cover us for the whole period if you have to show a negative covid test within 24 hours each time you cross the border. Does anyone know if we have to take a second test once in France to cover the transit through Italy? Are there different rules crossing between France and Italy? Thanks!

What would the journey be like if you got off one stop earlier, and taxied it from France?

I thought of that but the main road still crosses into Italy. Doesn’t look like there is an obvious other route through the Alps to avoid the border. Bloody mountains in the way Grin
