We have booked to go to Cala D’Or with two kids 12 and 11. We are keen to explore the island - we want to go to Palma for the day and also Valdemossa. Is there anywhere else you would recommend for a great day out? We’d like to hire a no license boat and possibly do bikes round a forest/park type place if possible but no idea where!

Thank you x

Pollenca. Nice town for a day trip. You can walk up the hill in town (up a big flight of stairs) for a lovely view.

I'd have recommended Valdemossa too, but you have that on your list.

Fornalutz is a v pretty village, but not much to do there. Maybe a stop on the way to Soller, if you go there.

There's the long windy road up to the lighthouse, but I can't remember the name of it - probably Cap something I guess...

It's a beautiful island. You've got me wondering about a long weekend now...

Thank you @ReviewingTheSituation - great suggestions! I forgot Pollensa. I’ve been to Majorca before but only as a child and I still have good memories of it!

Palma is a fab city, I just love it and Valdemossa is lovely too. Soller and Port de soller are very nice - you can get a tourist train from Palma to Soller and then there is a tram down to Port de Soller (or if you had a boat and stopped at Port de Soller you could take the tram up to Soller). There are lots of nice little villages out that way - Deia, Fornalutz etc and some fantastic hiking. I don't know about bike riding apart from on the coast roads which are very popular.

Our favourite place on Majorca is Cala Mondrago, not far from Cala D'Or, you have to park car at top of hill and walk down but it's a lovely beach and you can easily walk round to another even quieter one. There is a restaurant and snack bar but we took our own food/drinks. Also, great views from the pedaloes for hire.
