Can anyone recommend one? We want recommendations of multi trips by people who may have had some experience of going there and who can recommend a number of places.

Audley cover the US. You are paired with a specialists who is an expert in the region you are planning to visit and they build a trip based around your interests. If part of the trip is in a region outside of your specialists area then they work with another specialist for that portion of the trip. They are expensive, but excellent and their service throughout Covid has been brilliant.

Thanks for the recommendations. @SummaLuvin we have accommodation in one of the places. Do Audley allow for that? In other words, flights to and from US, internal flights and all but one of the destination hotels?

Yes, or they have with me before. I stayed with friends for a period of one of my trips and this was no trouble, I can't see why is it would be any different with a pre-booked accommodation.

It's much easier just to book online these days, internal flights are simple. I lived in the USA just as the internet was getting going and even then we didn't use travel agents.

I'll give them a try. @gogohm I always booked independently but had huge problems trying to get refunded for a holiday I had booked at the beginning of Covid. If I book with an agent, I feel more reassured should Covid restrictions come into place
