UK Log cabin holiday recommendations
Nopetryagain · 26/01/2022 12:37
I am going on holiday with a friend and we are looking for a log cabin style holiday and would be grateful for any recommendations.
Destination wise the Cotswolds, south Wales, Wiltshire and Forest of Dean all look lovely but happy to look elsewhere.
Ideally we are looking for some or all of the following:
Pet friendly
Walking distance from restaurant or pub
Hot tub
Thanks in advance :)

Have you looked at Forest Holidays? We stayed at Deerpark in Cornwall. Def pet friendly & some lodges come with a hot tub although the Cornwall one is a bit remote. They’ve others around the UK too.

The Forest of Dean forest holiday site is great, probably our favourite.

We stayed at the Forest Holidays in the FoD and it was not good. The location was good but there were so many things broken in the cabin and the final straw was moving the sofa cushions to find every one had been turned over so that the side sprayed in something white and sticky was not visible. Didn't even get a refund for the early check in we'd paid for and didn't get, let alone for the cummy cushions.

Try Clawford Lakes if Devon isn’t too far. Or Hideaway Lodge at Oakland’s Country Lodges (about a mile to a pub) in the Peak District.

Whitemead, Forest of Dean. A couple of small local pubs easily walkable, but bar and restaurant on site. Some log cabins have hot rubs. Also, use of swimming pool, jaccuzis, steam room and stauna. Onsite shop. Lots of walks within three miles, but if you don't want to drive, Cannop Ponds walkable.

Clawford lakes is close to me and is all brand new. It looks amazing.
Deerpark forest is lovely as well. I've worked as a private chef in their cabins several times.

Bainland park, more lodges than log cabin though
