Texas with teens

We are thinking of going to a wedding in Texas at Easter. Our DD aged 16 has had two Covid vaccines and our DD aged 15 had had one vaccine. We have both had our booster. Will our youngest DD be allowed entry to restaurants and museums if she has only had one vaccine? Not sure where to look for the most up-to-date info

You need to carefully read this FO website. It does say that under-17s (at the moment) are exempt from vaccination requirements.

You can google for Texas, but in general, they are much more about keeping their economy running so have resisted restrictions and covid passports.

This is the latest from the Foreign Office travel website on the USA

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements

Children under 17 are at present exempt from vaccination requirements.

Anything goes in Texas according to my friend who lives there. Low vaccination rates, no mask wearing, no vaccine passports etc. A higher than average number of people in covid denial.

There are literally no restrictions unless requested specifically by an establishment. There’s no state mandate.

Compare and contrast to NYC where you can’t do anything!!!!

Thanks and that's interesting to hear @Zodlebud. I didn't realise they were quite so relaxed in Texas.

There’s lots of “recommendations” and “encouragement” but no state laws in place at all now. She was in a packed stadium watching Elton John at the weekend. He’s now got covid…….
