Cluster of gites near Royan for this summer

Hi Looking for Recommendations if anyone knows somewhere lovely in this area.

We are a family of 4 - DC will be 11 and 9 so somewhere with the potential for them to find some other kids to play with while we lie by a pool would be amazing.
We did something similar pre pandemic but keen to see if we can improve on it as it was quite a drive to the beaches . Well to anywhere really .
Has anyone got any bright ideas please ?

Have you been there ?
We had a brilliant holiday there but found we spent a lot of time in the car so wondered if we could do better.
Maybe not .

We had booked but it was cancelled due to you know what!

Sorry can’t help specifically as we were on a campsite near there. But do remember the traffic in that area was very bad! Unless it was just the time we went.

Similarly in the Dordogne.

Then when we went to the Vendee it was such a lovely contrast with its quiet roads!
