Am going to treat me and dp to a night away at the beginning of Feb. Want it to be v. close to where we live as can't be bothered travelling - this looks just the thing, but you're my hotel expert - have you come across it?

shrigley hall hotel

Or other recommendations for lovely getting away from it all places in Cheshire/possibly Derbyshire please!

My cousin used to be the chef there and the golf is good.

Have you checked what they say on Tripadvisor? Do you specifically want countryside or would a city hotel be ok? What are your main criteria?

Dottydot · 28/12/2007 13:07

I neeeeeeeed a night away from it all. Countryside - a lovely view just to stare at. No computers!!! Pool to swim in. Good food. Just a re-charge of batteries which are very low at the moment. I think not City - too busy and I'm craving peace at the moment.

Hi Dottydot!

I stayed at Shrigley Hall about 2 years ago, and it was OK. But I beleive it has had a refurb since then. We book it for clients and have had no negative reports. I wasn't blown away by it though.

Will think of some other options in a minute

Thanks (everyone)!
