UK resident - tourist visa required for US?

Hi. I haven't been to the States for over 20 years. I hadn't paid too much attention to travel news recently other than the US is open to tourists. I was convinced that UK residents now need to have a visa, but it looks like the UK is on the waiver list. I'd really appreciate if someone could confirm what's the deal please? I'm travelling in April and need to sort it if there is one. Thanks

You need to apply online for an ESTA.

If you are arriving by air you need an ESTA.

If you are arriving by road from Either Canada or Mexico you need an I 94 visa. Unless it's changed recently.

Make sure you follow the link @Trisolaris posted. There are a load of scam websites that come up first if you google and you'll end up paying through the nose.
