going to thailand in a week with 16mo ds. last time i was there - koh pha ngan, 2 years ago - i saw hardly any kids, and we will be in bungalows on the beach rather than hotels or resorts... i am thinking that we will need a travel cot, but the one we have is SO heavy, can anyone advise of a really light one we can get?

I would contact the people you have arranged it through and ask them if there is one there you can borrow - heck of a faff having to take one IMO

we're doing it independently - just turning up and hoping to find somewhere, so can't check in advance... i guess we'll have to take one to be on the safe side.

quite possibly too late for this, but depending on where you stay on pha ngan, pretty much none of the bungalows have cots, not sure how heavy cot you have is, but could try something like this www.millets.co.uk/Arc-2-Cot/product/095340.aspx?searchbreadcrumbs=travel-cot
