Anyone know if I need a car seat for coach trips in Canada?

We're off to Fernie, British Columbia, on 12 Jan. DD, coming up for 12 months, is coming with us. Do we need a car seat, and what sort, for her in the coach for the transfer from Calgary to Fernie? The trip goes through Alberta and BC. I know you need them for cars in BC, but couldn't find out what the situation is with coaches. She's just gone into her forward facing seat but will be 4 days shy of her first birthday on the day we travel out.

And yes I know we're mad, but there's nearly 2 metres of snow pack, the nanny is booked and it's too late to back out now!

I don't think the coach is likely to have seat belts, so you are unlikely to need a car seat.

I've had a bit of a google and haven't been able to find out what the situation is. It's worth noting that we don't say 'coaches' in Canada, they're buses.

Thanks NQC - I couldn't find anything on Google either. The tour operator assures me we don't need one but as they've also failed to book a cot for DD (where did they think she was going to sleep?) I'm checking elsewhere.

Thanks for the language advice too! I never knew that...
