majorca - cala Millor?

Planning ahead for next summer 2023 and trying to decide where to go! daughters will be 10 and almost 5 and be the little ones first time abroad. Looking for self catering appartments with enough to keep the kids occupied as they are used to caravan holidays now! Cala Millor looks nice has anyone been there? I’ve never been to Majorca so i’m not sure where’s nice and where to avoid?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions for resorts with enough things to keep the 10 year old happy that are still nice?

Much prefer Cala Dor for families over Cala Millor

@AllyBali123 I agree with LoudSnoringDog - Cala D’Or 😊 we’ve been quite a few times and usually stay at the Cala Ferrera side of the resort 😊

We've been to Cala Millor a couple of times and love it. Miles of sandy beach, a lovely town to browse around In the evenings and lots of restaurants and bars.

Cala D'or is made up of several coves and has a more upmarket feel. There are lots of lovely whitewashed restaurants and bars to choose from along the marina where the children can play on the beach as you have a glass of wine! However, the beaches are small and do get busy in the summer.
Cala Millor is basically just one massive beach, so big in fact that it doesn’t ever seem as crowded. If it’s activities you’re after, then it bears Cala D’or hands down. Also has loads of shops, bars and restaurants with a pedestrianised walk to Cala Bona that takes around 10/15 stroll. Cala Bona is a quieter resort with harbour and boat trips. A difficult choice!

argh it certainly is everywhere sounds lovely! Yeah we want to have things for kids to do since it’s 2 weeks and i liked the look of the large beach. I seen that you walk from cala miller to cala bins which also sounds lovely, decisions decisions!!

Majorca ie really lovely for taking children to. We had many holidays at Cala Dor . Lots of beaches ,boat trips ,lovely shopping area with so many choices for food. Not ridiculously noisy and a fabulous marina for eating out in the evenings and more boat trips .
Puerto pollensa is lovely as well .
The whole island is fantastic for exploring if you hire a car.

Cala Millor has a couple of fun parks full of bouncy castles etc which your youngest will especially like. The beach is good for water sports there too. We haven't stayed in Cala Miller but we in sa coma, just a couple of miles away.

I’ve been to both and while it was years ago I was at Cala D’or I really liked it. It has a lovely little town and beautiful coves to recommend it.

We had a fortnight in Sa Coma last summer and really enjoyed it. It’s a decent distance, but we walked a few times (and got the bus) to Cala Millor and even up to Cala Bona. We’ve got a 7 year old and it was fine for her too. The promenade between the 2 resorts goes for for ages and is a great walk with a fab beach and lots of shops / bars / restaurants etc. It was a last minute choice as we had to change our plans due to a COVID and I would happily go back. The walk would make it be my first choice.

Enjoy regardless, they’re both lovely for a family holiday.

I really liked Cala Millor- would definitely go back. Lovely walk along the promenade and beach is fab. Go for it.
