Egypt

We did a last minute trip to Tenerife over New Year and loved it, so thinking of going away at the same time again. I’ve been looking about and the best prices of somewhere that will probably be hot is Egypt.

Anyone got any experience of it over winter recently? Thinking a 4/5* AI. Not too fussed about exploring. I like my holidays where we’re out and about, but I know you can’t really do much of that in Egypt and for December it was just nice to get sunshine and relax compared to grey UK at this time of year. We’ve got a 8 year old DD if that helps for info.

Thanks

Not been recently (in the last 3 years) but we used to go to Sharm regularly in January pre kids for diving holidays for a week. It was always high teens or low to mid twenties (18-25c) in the day and mid to high teens in the evening. Used to get a little breezy and need a jumper or fleece. Marsa Alam in 2018 and that was cooler and more windy. Cold in the wind when out the pool or sea. Pools are usually heated and some facilities are not open as it’s quiet. Evenings were cooler and need a jumper. Lovely and sunny though. I preferred spring or Autumn but just for diving it was great, quieter and great value.

Thanks @EcoCustard I’ll keep an eye out for the heated pools. Good to hear you enjoyed.
