How soon are people ordering their day 2 lateral flow tests before they travel?

I already have mine ready for my return (from the US) on 7 Feb.

DD only booked hers the week before at the airport - there was only one appointment left 40 mins after landing. The sooner you book, the more choice you'll have! Luckily she got off the plane early and her suitcase was already on carousel.

Do you have to have an in person test done? Sounds like an expensive ballache to me. I’d just order one of the photo upload ones while I was away, in case they change the rules again so it would be delivered and waiting for me when I got home.

Just been got a quick look online. £22, next day delivery with the code (which lets be honest, is all you really need) emailed straight to you. Do the test, upload a photo. Job done.

I’d be ordering one of them the day before I flew back tbh.

This is what I've done. It needs to be supervised so I booked a video appt for the day before I travel. And the one back in the UK doesn't need supervising but I ordered that at the same time so I have both tests delivered already ready for when I need them. I used Qured as they're approved by both UK and US governments (it's the USA who insist the pre-arrival test must be supervised but by video is fine).

There are no more day 2 PCR tests. You can now take an LFT at home. I order them 2-3 days before I'm due to fly to the UK. There's no point in ordering them weeks in advance and then the rules change half-way through. Money down the drain. 2-3 days in advance gives plenty of time for them to arrive.

Was this a rapid antigen test or pcr? Thanks
